WoW Launcher Update r113

This is a bug-fix release. This fixes a logic error that would sometimes cause the realm description to seemingly not be saved once the program was restarted.

You can grab the newest version by letting your current version auto-update, or by downloading it here.

Anti-virus’ & the WoW Launcher

I’ve been informed that from revision 109 and on (about the time I switched to Visual Studio 2012), my WoW Launcher is being falsely identified by an Antivirus named ‘QuickHeal’. I’m currently attempting to get this rectified either on their end, or mine.

For those who are truly paranoid, I’ve compiled revision 112 with Visual Studio 2008 here (VirusTotal scan). Just run it with the command line option “-uptodate” to skip the new version is available message when new versions get posted.

WoW Launcher Update r112

This update fixes a crash that would occur when you attempted to launch a realm via double clicking its listbox entry when that realms Config.wtf or Launcher.wtf didn’t include a “useThirtyTwoBitClient” entry.

Also fixed is a display bug, where the realmlist textbox would be disabled when it shouldn’t be.

You can grab the newest version by letting your current version auto-update, or by downloading it here.

WoW Launcher Update r110

This update has a few minor bug fixes, and introduces a ‘Set Realmlist’ checkbox that allows you to make the launcher simply not write the realmlist (useful if all you’re using the launcher for is to clear your cache, and not play across the Atlantic).

You can grab the newest version by letting your current version auto-update, or by downloading it here.

Windows Live Messenger – Enabling 10+ transfers

Since the creator of A-Patch seems to be completely not contactable (both the forums and contact form do not work), I’ll just post this here..

File: msnmsgr.exe
File Version: 15.4.3555.308
Address on file: 001B9E82
Address in memory: 001B9E82 + ImageBase + BaseOfCode (- SizeOfHeaders to make it an RVA)
Find: 83 F8 0A 77 27
Replace: 90 90 90 90 90

This will enable dragging 10+ files into a chat window for file transfer.

64-bit Wow client

Just a heads up everyone.

The next time you run my WoW Launcher you’ll be prompted to update. This update includes support for the 64-bit version of the game.

If you have the 64-bit binary files in the WoW directory, and through the official WoW launcher have it setup to not use the 32-bit client then my WoW Launcher will run the 64-bit version instead. If the 64-bit version does not exist, but it’s setup to use the 64-bit version, it’ll use the 32-bit version as a fallback.

This only matters of course, if you do not use the “use Launcher” option.

Have fun!

Yet Another Minor Launcher Update

This update adds a small server check when you launch a realm, to see if it’s online or not. It does this by parsing the “set realmlist” line, and even supports custom ports (“:port”).

You’ll still be able to launch the game if it’s offline, if you wish – it’s just a small check.
